Waiting for Saint Sarah

Saint Sarah is the mythical patron saint of Rom gipsies. Sarah, that is not even an authentic religious saint, is celebrated every 24th and 25th of May in France, in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. The atmosphere that is perceived there some hours before the main celebration is a sort of Leopardian wait of the feast itself. The air and time is sort of suspended. People are waiting for their “Sainte” to come and “swim” to the seaside.
