Vendor on the Apollolaan in Amsterdam, on the traditional Queen’s day market at the end of April.

Holland’s most known traditional holiday is King’s day (formerly Queen’s day, look it up), with festivals, concerts, official ceremonies and endless crowds on the street. Most important however is the flee market that practically takes over the entire city. On this very day, everybody is allowed to sell whatever they want on the street, from hot beverages to antiques. As one of the most famous street markets is in my neighborhood, I always take a walk on the Aplollolaan, to see what the Dutch is up for. This old guy is a vendor of junk, doesn’t seem too happy rolling his cigarette, but he was willing to pose for a shot to a stranger.
