Urban desolation, Rural Paradise

Arctic tundra near Barrow Alaska, the furthest north place in the United States.  Often referred to as desolate by urban residents, it is absolutely revered by those who live on, and depend on, the tundra.  There is also a long history of conflict because of the difference in view point, and the odd black objects on  the right side of this image represent the cause of 100 years of distrust.  Those are 55 gallon oil drums.
