I was sitting on a bench in front of the homeless person, waiting for something to happen and caught this unexpectedly. The picture shows a lot of irony if viewer is familiar with the economic background of this city. The homeless person is a local Chinese Malaysian citizen, and the standing guy is a foreign worker being employed in this country. It was Saturday and it’s most probably that the man is getting a day off work and spending some time downtown. The area has become a hub for these occasions. What’s more ironic is regarding the location where this photo was taken. The closed shop where the homeless person is sitting in front of is a specialist shop where you can get pricey Chinese soup, easily at 100USD a pop with shark fins and abalone inside. So I guess I like the picture for its social content (or discontent of you like). It is a photography that makes me think a lot.
