Colin Boyd Shafer is a Canadian Photographer and High School Teacher. His photographic work focuses mainly on portraiture and street photography, with a particular interest in documentary projects. Currently he is doing an MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development at The School of Oriental and African Studies in London, UK. From 2008-2012 he lived in Malaysia where he taught Psychology and Geography at Taylor's College. Colin founded the TEDx featured Everyone Has Hope Project where Malaysian students teach photography to Burmese Refugees . His photographs have won a number of competitions, the most recent being the 2013 Human Rights Watch Film Festival's Photography Competition in London. His work has been featured on the cover of Asian Photography Magazine, and in many international publications like The New Internationalist, Hype, and F-Stop Magazine.
